Fiji Airways, Fiji`s National Airline and Alaska Airlines have extended their current partnership by signing a codeshare agreement on flights from San Francisco to two popular U.S. cities. The codeshare agreement allows Fiji Airways to place its „FJ“ code on Alaska Airlines flights between SFO and Seattle (SEA) and Portland (PDX), allowing Fiji Airways customers to have seamless connections to these cities via San Francisco and vice versa for Alaska Airlines customers. Codeshare flights are available from March 5, 2018. Business Class Lounge Access and Priority Check-in Addition to the code-sharing agreement, Emirates Skywards® Gold-Platinum members will soon have access to Alaska Airlines Board Room Lounges in Anchorage, Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles when they book an Emirates flight connected to Alaska Airlines. Similarly, Alaska Airlines MVP® Gold and MVP® Gold 75K members also have access to Emirates Business Class lounges in Dubai. Later, emirates and members of the elite Alaska Airlines will also enjoy a reciprocal check-in and boarding in Dubai, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. On February 2, 2020, Alaska Airlines announced an interline agreement with French Bee at San Francisco International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport.   Under the new agreement, code sharing will be significantly expanded and will initially cover American Airlines` long-haul international flights from Seattle and Los Angeles. In addition, members of both airlines` loyalty programs can collect and use miles on all other airline flights – an extension of a recent agreement. network – is aggressively competing with the Americans. Virgin, in particular, has competed strongly with American on 20 non-stop routes served by the two airlines. This competition has forced Americans to offer consumers lower prices and better service on some of the country`s busiest routes. According to the complaint, the significant neck-and-neck competition between Virgin and American on these routes is partly due to Virgin`s holding of significant and rare assets, including airport gates and take-off and landing rights known as „time slots“ in major U.S. strongholds.
